Fishpool Awards Evening 2010

The Fishpool Awards Evening was held at The Picturedrome, Barton Street, Gloucester.
First established in 2002, this event is always well attended and is seen as a “mini Notting Hill” burst of celebration, aspiration, huge talent and wide ranging entertainment.
The aim is to acknowledge all the positive aspects of our Black and Mixed Heritage pupils.
The Secondary schools involved were: Beaufort Community,  Brockworth Enterprise,  Bishops’ College, Central Technology College, Churchdown and Severn Vale.
Each school took the stage and performed before a huge audience. The entertainment included tap dancing, singing, poetry, a film on aspirations, power-points, solos, and street dancing. Certificates were given to all those who have been a part of the Fishpool programme in school and special trophies in memory of the late Pam Dennis were given to one pupil from each of the 6 schools.
A great evening was had by all … including the mayor!
